COTABATO CITY – The newly constructed two-storey Sheik Omar Pasigan Building at Kutawato Darussalam College was formally inaugurated and turned over in a ceremony held in Cotabato City. The completion of the new academic facility marks another milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and provide students with a more conducive learning environment.

Construction of the building commenced in April 2026 and was completed approximately 50 percent ahead of schedule, demonstrating the efficient implementation of the project and the strong collaboration among stakeholders committed to advancing the education sector. The early completion reflects the shared dedication of the City Government of Cotabato and the Bangsamoro Government to delivering quality public infrastructure that directly benefits students and educational institutions.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Cotabato City Mayor Mohammad Ali “Bruce” Matabalao, together with senior officials of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) led by Chief Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua and Bangsamoro Board of Investments (BBOI) Chairman Omar Pasigan. Also present were Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Members of Parliament Atty. Kitem Kadatuan, Jr., Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo, and Michael Midtimbang, who expressed their support for initiatives that promote accessible and quality education. The new facility is expected to significantly enhance the learning experience of students and reinforce the collective commitment of the City Government of Cotabato and the Bangsamoro Government to investing in the future of the Bangsamoro youth through improved educational facilities.
