
COTABATO CITY – The City Government of Cotabato, in partnership with KAPYANAN, formally conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the 50-Unit Housing Resettlement Project in Barangay Poblacion 8 on June 15, 2026. The project aims to provide safe, decent, and sustainable housing for qualified families, particularly those affected by displacement and those in need of permanent shelter. The ceremony was attended by city officials, representatives of KAPYANAN, partner agencies, community leaders, and prospective beneficiaries.
The housing project is a testament to the strong collaboration between KAPYANAN and the City Government of Cotabato in addressing the housing needs of vulnerable families and promoting inclusive urban development. Through this initiative, both institutions seek to improve the quality of life of residents by providing secure and resilient communities where families can rebuild their lives and pursue better opportunities.

Mayor Mohammad Ali “Bruce” Matabalao expressed his gratitude to KAPYANAN for its partnership and shared commitment to uplifting the lives of Cotabateños. “This housing project represents hope and a brighter future for many families. Through the collective efforts of KAPYANAN and the City Government of Cotabato, we are taking a significant step toward ensuring that every Cotabateño has access to a safe and dignified home,” the Mayor said
The groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of a project that will help strengthen communities and support the city’s vision of sustainable and people-centered development.
