
BAGUIO CITY – The Executive and Legislative Departments of the City Government of Cotabato conducted a benchmarking visit to the City Government of Baguio on July 8, 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen local governance and improve public service delivery. The Cotabato City delegation, led by Mayor Mohammad Ali “Bruce” Matabalao, Vice Mayor Johair Madag, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, department heads, and key city officials, was warmly welcomed by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong and his officials. The visit provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss innovative programs that have contributed to Baguio City’s reputation as one of the country’s leading local government units.


During the benchmarking activity, both local government units engaged in discussions on best practices in urban planning, environmental management, digital governance, tourism development, disaster risk reduction and management, and citizen-centered public services. The exchange of knowledge and experiences highlighted the importance of collaboration among local government units in developing innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of their communities.
